Ponad 800 artystów straciło taśmy w pożarze [LISTA]

Do pożaru doszło w 2008 roku, ale właściciele Universal Studio przez wiele lat utrzymywali, że ogień pochłonął jedynie część archiwów telewizyjnych. W ostatnich dniach poznawaliśmy jednak kolejne nazwiska i nazwy zespołów, które utraciły swoje nagrania w płomieniach. Teraz „New York Times” opublikował listę ponad 800 artystów.

Wśród poszkodowanych artystów znalazł się Bryan Adams, który już w 2013 roku zaczął podejrzewać, że stało się coś złego. W wypowiedzi dla „New York Times” opowiada, że chciał wydać reedycję swojego przebojowego albumu „Reckless” z 1984 roku:

Skontaktowałem się z archiwum Universal Music, prosząc o miksy, okładki, zdjęcia, mastery, filmy, cokolwiek. Prawie nic nie znaleziono. Dzwoniłem do każdego, byłych pracowników, dyrektorów, producentów, nawet asystentów. Ostatecznie znalazłem kopię zapasową w mojej piwnicy, ale zastanawiało mnie, gdzie się podziało tyle materiału. Tak jakby moje nagrania z lat 80. wyparowały.

Według raportu wśród taśm-matek zniszczony w pożarze były nagrania między innymi Nirvany, Guns N’ Roses, Eltona Johna, R.E.M. i Steely Dan.

Teraz „New York Times” opublikował listę liczącą ponad 800 artystów, zastrzegając, że nie jest to pełna lista. Nie oznacza to, że materiał wszystkich wymienionych na liście artystów przepadł bezpowrotnie, bo niektórzy mieli kopie zapasowe taśm, lub zdążyli je przed pożarem przenieść na nośniki cyfrowe. Jednak każdy z nich w mniejszym lub większym stopniu został poszkodowany w pożarze.

Zostały złożone już pierwsze pozwy pod adresem Universalu.
